Street Workout World Cup 2013 Stage 5 in New York on Saturday August 24th

Street Workout World Cup 2013 Stage 5 will be held on Saturday August 24th at the “East River Outdoor Gym” across from the intersection of FDR Drive and E 6th Street (10009). If you are arriving by subway, here are the closest stops ((1) F train to 2nd Ave, (2) J or M train to Delancey, or (3) B or D to Grand Street. See map below.

The event will start at 1:00 PM and will last for 4-5 hours. The competition is held in street workout freestyle discipline. Each participant will perform for 2 rounds, 3 minutes each, showing mazing moves and stunts on bar.

Competitions have already been held in cities around the world including Madrid, Taipei, Oslo, and Offenburg. The 4 top competitors selected will travel to Moscow, Russia in December of 2013, all expenses paid, to compete in the “Street Workout World Cup 2013” final event. THE EVENT

This is the 3rd of 8 stages being held in Street Workout World Cup 2013 series presented by the World Street Workout and Calisthenics Federation (www.wswcf.org, www.facebook.com/wswcf) in cooperation with local partners. From each individual competition 4 participants will be invited to compete in the Superfinal taking place in Moscow, Russia in December 2013.

Norway’s stage hosted 24 athletes from 13 countries. Norway’s Stage was organized by Norwegian Street Workout Association with the support of general sponsor AFPT (Akademiet for Personlig Trening – Academy for Personal Traning).

Since 2011 World Street Workout and Calisthenics Federation organizes international street workout competitions to raise global awareness about the street workout movement, especially among children and youth, to motivate athletes and to find new talents and stars. First was the Street Workout World Championship 2011 in Riga, Latvia which is now established as an annual tradition and is intended to be the biggest and most spectacular street workout competition in the world. Starting from 2013 the Federation in cooperation with its partners and member organizations has launched annual Street Workout World Cup series. The World Cup events are being held in countries where the Street Workout movement is the most active, such us Russia, USA, Spain, Germany and others.

STAGE 1: Date: April 27, 2013. Place: Madrid, Spain. Organizer: Spanish street workout organization “Barbarrio” and the Federation.

STAGE 2: Date: May 25, 2013. Place: Taipei, Taiwan. Organizer: Taiwanese street workout organization “Street Workout Taiwan” and the Federation.

STAGE 3: Date: June 29, 2013. Place: Oslo, Norway. Organizer: Head of the Norwegian Street Workout Association Lasse Tufte and the Federation.

STAGE 4: Date: July 20, 2013. Place: Offenburg, Germany. Organizer: Head of the German street workout movement Dennis Ratano and the Federation.

STAGE 5: Street Workout World Championship 2013, which is included in the overall evaluation of the SW World Cup 2013 stages. Date: August 03, 2013. Place: Riga, Latvia. Organizer: The Federation.

STAGE 6: Date: August 24, 2013. Place: New York, USA. Organizer: International street workout organization “Barstarzz” and the Federation.
